What “same pattern” means here
When you build an 80-mark Maths, Science or Social Science paper for Class 10 on IndiaSchool with the whole syllabus selected, it has the same sections, the same number of questions in each and the same marks as the CBSE sample paper above, and its instructions say so. The questions are new ones from our bank, written from the NCERT chapters, not copies of the sample paper. Unlike the board paper, our papers do not yet offer internal choice (“attempt either A or B”).
CBSE Class 10 sample papers: common questions
- Are these the official CBSE sample papers for 2026-27?
- Yes. Each PDF on this page is the sample question paper or marking scheme published by CBSE for Class X, session 2026-27, unchanged. CBSE publishes them on cbseacademic.nic.in.
- Has the paper pattern changed for 2026-27?
- No. Every 2026-27 sample paper carries the note "There is no change in the Question Paper Design and Assessment Pattern for Academic Session 2026-27."
- How should I use the marking scheme?
- Attempt the paper first, timed, without looking. Then mark it yourself with the marking scheme. It shows the value points an examiner looks for and how marks are split inside a long answer, which is where most marks are lost.
- Which Maths paper should I practise, Standard or Basic?
- The one you registered for. Both have the same pattern of 38 questions in five sections; Basic (241) asks easier questions than Standard (041).
