CBSE Class 7 syllabus — every chapter, all four subjects
Fifty-two chapters across Maths, Science, Social Science and English. The distribution is lopsided in a way worth planning around: Social Science is twenty chapters on its own, English is five.

There is no CBSE Class 7 syllabus PDF
CBSE's curriculum page publishes documents for Secondary (IX-X) and Senior Secondary (XI-XII) and nothing below. At Class 7 the NCERT book is the syllabus and the school sets the paper, so this page gives chapters and no mark tables — there is no board weighting to report, and a made-up one would be worse than none. Marks start being published at Class 9.
Twenty chapters of Social Science
It is the single biggest thing about this year and almost nobody plans for it. Social Science is 20 of the 52 chapters — more than Maths and Science put together in count, spanning geography, history, civics and economics in one integrated book. If the year is going to run out of time anywhere, it runs out here.
Mathematics
15 chaptersGanita Prakash (NCERT Class 7)
Fifteen chapters. School exams, not board exams — but this is the year the algebra and geometry that Class 10 depends on gets laid down.

CBSE Class 7 syllabus — common questions
- Where is the official CBSE Class 7 syllabus?
- There is not one. CBSE publishes curriculum documents for Classes 9 to 12 only. For Class 7 the NCERT textbook is the syllabus and your school sets the exam, so any "CBSE Class 7 syllabus PDF" you find online is the book contents under a different name.
- How many chapters are in CBSE Class 7?
- Fifty-two across the four core subjects: Social Science 20, Mathematics 15, Science 12 and English 5. Social Science alone is more than a third of the year, which is not how most students budget their time.
- What are the Class 7 books called?
- Mathematics is Ganita Prakash and Science is Curiosity — the NCERT series introduced under the new curriculum framework. Class 7 was among the first years to move across, so these books have been in classrooms longer than the Class 9 ones.
- Which Class 7 chapters matter most later?
- The algebra and geometry. Expressions Using Letter-Numbers, Finding the Unknown, and the two chapters on intersecting lines are the ideas Class 10 Algebra and Geometry are built on — and those two units are worth 35 of 80 marks in the Class 10 paper.
