Two lists, and why they disagree

If you have opened the CBSE syllabus PDF and the new textbook side by side, they will not match, and it is worth knowing that before you assume one of them is out of date.

CBSE's curriculum document organises the year into six units of topics and attaches marks to each. The NCERT book organises the same year into eight chapters with entirely new names. Neither is a renaming of the other and there is no clean chapter-to-unit mapping — a single chapter can feed two units. So: learn from the book, and plan revision time from the unit marks below.
