The parts you label
- Terminal bud — The growing tip at the top of the stem.
- Leaf — Grows from a node; makes food for the plant.
- Node — The point on the stem where a leaf or bud arises.
- Internode — The length of stem between two nodes.
- Stem — Holds up the plant and carries water and food.
- Primary root — The main root growing straight down (the tap root).
- Lateral root — A side branch of the main root.
Challenges to clear
- Tap the growing tip at the top of the stem.
- Tap the point where a leaf joins the stem.
- Tap the main root that grows straight down.
- Label the whole plant, shoot and root.
